SCHEDULE & RESULTS
The Braves kick off their season against the RV Devils with a young team and a new head coach. The game was back and fourth with both the offense and defense putting up a great fight. On offense Turner Inge ran for 124 yards with 2 touchdowns. New quarterback Zach Zerbe also ran for 143 yards with 2 touchdowns. Right before halftime, Darren Darcangelo scored a 35 yard field goal to take the lead 17-14. The defense stayed strong with Keyshaun Watkins, Sean Gallagher, and Paul Williams each with an interception. Paul's final interception sealed the Brave's first win 30-24.
On the second week of the season the Brave's take on a strong St. Augustine team. The Braves did their best putting up a tough fight but in the end lost 28-0.
On the third week of Braves football, they bounced back with an impressive win over Kingsway. On offense, Turner Inge rushed over 183 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. Zach Zerbe and Ka'Shawn Nixon also each scored a touchdown. Darren Darcangelo scored a 30 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter making the game 17-0. The defense stayed strong and played tough the whole game leading to a Kingsway shut out. Braves win 31-0.
This week the Braves took on the Lenape Indians. The offense was led by Turner Inge, who ran for 193 yards and scored 1 touchdown. Zach Zerby ran for 2 touchdowns and had 1 touchdown receiving. Keyshaun Watkins was 8 for 9 for 116 yards passing, 25 yards rushing, and 1 touchdown pass to Zerby. The defense continues to impress, holding Lenape to just 14 points. The Braves win at home 27-14.
The Braves had one of their toughest away games of the season, playing against a talented Shawnee team. Turner Inge ran for 185 yards with one touchdown. Zach Zerbe ran for 74 yards and scored one touchdown. The Braves tried their hardest but were overwhelmed by a good Shawnee team, Shawnee wins 42-13.
The Braves played against their big rival Township for a fight to win the border trophy. Turner Inge ran for 135 yards and scored the only touchdown. Sadly Zach Zerbe was hurt early game and was unable to return. Township proved to be too tough a match this year winning 42-7.
The Braves returned home this week to play against the number 2 team in South Jersey. The special teams did a good job returning the ball, with Keyshaun Watkins having 2 returns for 43 yards. Paul Williams also had 2 returns for 60 yards, and Julian Noel returned one for 81 yards and scored a touchdown. Millville proved quite the challenge defeating the Braves 40-7.
The Braves head back on the road this week and took on the fighting clan. On offense, Turner Inge rushed for 216 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. Paul Williams ran for 81 yards and scored 1 touchdown. Nasir Lane also scored a 6 yard touchdown run. Defense played a tough game and held Vineland to just 6 points. Braves win the game 28-6.
For the Braves last regular season game they headed out on the road again to take on the Ocean City Red Raiders. Freshmen quarterback Drew Craig was 11 for 13 passing completions for 87 yards. Julian Noel had 5 receptions for 44 yards. Turner Inge rushed for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Braves put up a fight but lost to the Raiders 31-14, however the Braves are headed to Southern for the playoffs.
The Braves hit the road to take on their first playoff game against the Southern Rams. On offense, Drew Craig threw and completed 5 for 8 passes. He threw for 68 yards and a touchdown pass. Turner Inge rushed for 218 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. Julian Noel also scored a 9 yard touchdown pass. On defense, Turner Inge also had 11 tackles, 1 sac, and 1 forced fumble. Mason Brown had 9 tackles, and Paul Williams picked up a fumble and ran it back for a touchdown. The defense overall had a fantastic game, the Braves win 34-20 to continue their playoff season.
The Braves faced off against the Hillsborough Raiders for their second playoff game. On offense, Drew Craig threw the ball 14 times and completed 6 for 118 yards and 1 touchdown pass. Turner Inge ran for 170 yards and scored 1 touchdown. Julian Noel had 3 receptions for 45 yards and 1 touchdown pass. The Braves tried their best but the season comes to an end with Hillsborough winning 49-14. Overall, Turner Inge rushed for 1606 yards with 15 touchdowns. The Braves team as a whole rushed for 2270 yards and had 706 yards receiving. Good job everyone!
